Telephoto Lens

What is the difference between a regular "zoom" lens and a telephoto lens?
Is there any? I am new to photography, the only difference I see between them is a tele len seems to have a much bigger at the end of a regular zoom. I am a newbie, so sorry for the potential of stupid questions. Thanks for the replies.
"Tele" means a particular way to design a lens that allows the target be physically shorter than the focal length is real. Slower than 75 mm or more (for 35 mm cameras) is a telephoto design, but there are lenses not more than telephoto lenses. Zoom is a goal that can change the focal length. Technically, a lens is called a zoom lens, the focus should remain on point the same as the focal length changed, despite a couple of glasses to do so. Perhaps one that uses a telephoto zoom is very common design for zoom or part the focal length range is greater than 75 mm. It is also possible to have a zoom is not a telephoto design. So to answer your question, telephoto and zoom are terms that have completely different meanings and are not mutually exclusive.
